14:1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt.
They have done abominable works.
There is none who does good.
14:2 Yahweh looked down from heaven on the children of men,
to see if there were any who understood,
who sought after God.
14:3 They have all gone aside.
They have together become corrupt.
There is none who does good, no, not one.
14:4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
who eat up my people as they eat bread,
and don’t call on Yahweh?
14:5 There they were in great fear,
for God is in the generation of the righteous.
14:6 You frustrate the plan of the poor,
because Yahweh is his refuge.
14:7 Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
When Yahweh restores the fortunes of his people,
then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Late Arvo down an Aussie Bush Track near Our Place!

I’m getting some shots in, because we are moving soon.  It looks like we have a buyer for our house.  That means lots of packing in the next few weeks.  And where do we go?  Only the Lord knows, but it’s not too far from here.

I pray that I still have heaps of photo ops!!

Psalm 16

1 Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.
2 My soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord.
Apart from you I have no good thing.”
3 As for the saints who are in the earth,
they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another god.
Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer,
nor take their names on my lips.
5 Yahweh assigned my portion and my cup.
You made my lot secure.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places.
Yes, I have a good inheritance.
7 I will bless Yahweh, who has given me counsel.
Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
8 I have set Yahweh always before me.
Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices.
My body shall also dwell in safety.
10 For you will not leave my soul in Sheol,
neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.
11 You will show me the path of life.
In your presence is fullness of joy.
In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore

Pea Flower Parade!!

“And why worry about your clothing?

“Look at the (flowers) of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.

“And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?”

- Jesus (Matthew 6:28-30, NLT)

Colossians 3v1-4 “Remember Who You Are!”

Preached as my homiletics assessment in Year 1.

3:1 If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.

3:2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.

3:3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

3:4 When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.

Psalm 11

11:1 In Yahweh, I take refuge.
How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain!”
11:2 For, behold, the wicked bend their bows.
They set their arrows on the strings,
that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
11:3 If the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?
11:4 Yahweh is in his holy temple.
Yahweh is on his throne in heaven.
His eyes observe.
His eyes examine the children of men.
11:5 Yahweh examines the righteous,
but the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.
11:6 On the wicked he will rain blazing coals;
fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
11:7 For Yahweh is righteous.
He loves righteousness.
The upright shall see his face.

Leap for JOY!!

“What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, their ancestors treated the ancient prophets that same way.” (Luke 6:23, NLT)

LET GO OF THE PEANUTS!!

Like many others today, we’ve found ourselves caught up in this mortgage crisis. So I’d like to share some life lessons we’ve learned from it. If you are there too, I hope this helps!

Our situation reminded of the monkey who got his hand stuck in the peanut jar, because he wouldn’t let go of the peanuts.

LET GO OF THE PEANUTS, YOU STUPID MONKEY!!!

So what did we do? We looked at our situation, and realised that for years we’ve been working for peanuts, trying to hang on and keep our business afloat.

So we decided to LET GO OF THE PEANUTS!!! Sell up and move out before it was too late! For us, it worked out to be cheaper to rent. Maybe we can run the business from a new location, or maybe we need to work at something different!? Go and work for someone else?

Anyhow, that is all in the Lord’s hands! So, at the moment we are in limbo!! Between houses and jobs!! But the Lord knows, and He will work it out in His timing!

“And (I) know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28, NKJ)

And the Lord has things to teach us through the hard times. In my next post, I’d like to share about …

… SOME LESSONS I’VE LEARNED FROM LIFE’S LEMONS.
